Big News From Scottsdale: Scapa’s Son Does It Again
February 17th, 2012Hot off the press: literally only minutes old!
JLS Aayns Al Reejis (Scapa x LPS Thunderstruck) just did the unthinkable at Scottsdale! First he took the Two-Year-Old Colts International class. But then: he took the Gold Junior Colt title as well! Owner Josh Heath and breeder Beth Witt of Witt’s End Arabians are going to have to make room for more ribbons!
We’re waiting on confirmation, but this may the first time a straight Egyptian colt has claimed this title since 1994.
This is a HUGE victory, arguably the biggest victory for a junior colt! We couldn’t be prouder of Reejis, and of course, his sire, the one and only Scapa! Big congrats to owners, Josh Heath and Coyaba Farms and handler Michael Byatt.
While taking this top honor, JLS Aayns Al Reejis is no stranger to the spotlight. In June of 2011, he shattered the competition at Lexington’s Egyptian Event by landing the Unanimous Championship for the Junior Champion Egyptian Colt class.
Great night for the Paradise team! Don’t miss your chance to breed to Scapa!

WOW!! This gave me goosebumps and a tear to my eye. What a proud moment for everyone involved! Congrats to Paradise on their beautiful Scapa…to Beth Witt for breeding such a gorgeous colt and to his proud owner Josh Heath for taking such a huge honor in “Scottsdale”!!! I hope the Arabian horse world takes notice! Wonderful.

Congratulations to everyone involved with this incredible Colt. We are thrilled for all of you! Jim and I have been at paradise for the past two days, and were fortunate to be able watch this class with Gary and Wanda and some of the clients. What an exciting night we had!
Then today we got to see several of the Scapa babies. They’re incredible!!
And the Singleton foals are awesome as well. We are so blessed to be involved with Paradise, and these incredible horses. Don’t miss the opportunity to see these special foals for yourself! And whatever you do, don’t miss the opportunity to breed to these stallions!
Best wishes to all,
Carole and Jim Deegan
